The Old Town Key West, is one of the largest districts in the United States to be included in the national inventory of historic American neighborhoods. It deserves, if not a beautiful medal, at least one article showing all more or less hidden beauties of this great city.
It is enough to be soaking up the song of wandering (many) cocks in the sandy streets of the Bahamian district. Wooden houses with faded colors, bougainvillea tumbles, flashy small churches. Then settle seafront or in the shade of a court (that of Blue Heaven, for example) to enjoy a hamburger conches fries, Jamaican jerk chicken, pork tenderloin with mango chutney or simple grilled shrimp before a delicious Key lime pie. According to legend, once inside your shoes, sand Key West takes you back here obviously ... although like all islands, beaches are rare. Swimming at Fort Zachary beach or Municipal beach is all the more valuable. When the sun falls, we join Mallory Square and climbs aboard a catamaran for a sunset cruise-champagne. Kitch at will but so good. On the cross, we see a real American show in which the fire jugglers alongside preachers selling Jesus as a marketing argument.
Whimsical and festive, Key West is all excuses to celebrate. The island was one of the first places in the United States to host the gay community sees through each spring the Key West Pride. In the fall it was the turn of Fantasy festival, to hit the streets: the bodies are naked, daubed, extravagant. The island also receives comical celebration chicken (animal fetish), the Corvette, or the festival of underwater music. Outside appointments, nightlife is in full swing permanently on Duval Street, alignment bars open where live bands themselves hoarse. This blend of sweet madness to American and Caribbean typical nonchalance gives the island a unique floribéenne atmosphere.
A huge marine reserve
In addition to that, Key West is known of its magnificent houses
